Price of an electronic pest repellent

Updated: Nov 2, 2022

Have you ever wondered why electronic pest repellents have such a wide price range? Some companies will sell one unit for $40 and another company is selling a pack of 3 for $29.99. Don’t they all use a variety of sound and light to disrupt a pests living pattern to rid pests over time? What’s the big difference anyway? In this article we will go over the 3 main points to be aware of to help you in your journey when purchasing an electronic repellent so you can get the best value whether you are a mom of 2 kids with a kitchen ant problem, or someone who is dealing with pesky squirrels in their backyard.

Pest repellent type

There are many different types of electronic pest repellents that use either sound or light to bother pests and make them move out of their uninvited home. They are sold for all kinds of animals in various quantities like a single unit or a pack of 5. In general, you can buy an electronic pest repellent for Around $30 dollars, some are a little higher at $40 or $50 depending on the exact product you choose. They typically all have the same claims saying that they are for all rodents and pests, you can set it in the corner and let it do its work, and magically in 2-3 weeks, your pest problems are gone. Some models claim to be for multiple types of pests, and other products are tailored towards one pest. There are other bigger repellents that use strobe lights instead of a small frequency, these repellents would be for the attic or garage if we are speaking about a residential home as they would disturb you if you were to be around it. Certain repellents use loud sounds to scare off animals, these would not be used in urban areas as they would draw too many complaints. The smaller repellents for insects and small pests use an inaudible frequency to humans and pets that are only heard by pests. When using these small repellents, in a few weeks you will start to notice a decrease in pest activity. These are the 3 most dominant pest repellents being sold on amazon at least from my own research. New products come up everyday, so this guide is only to give you an overview of some of the products in existence, not a detailed comprehensive guide of 100% of the products on the market

Choice of business

Your choice of which company you choose to buy your electronic pest repellent from will play a big role in what price you pay. One of the biggest differences you will see that affects price is the service the company offers around the product. For example, when it comes to shipping speed, some companies do 1 week shipping and some companies to next day air shipping. Another service is returns and warranties, some companies will give you a free refund or replacement if the product doesn’t satisfy you and some will reject your return request. Basically, the companies that have less customer service/care will generally be a few bucks cheaper, and companies that have superior %100 satisfaction service will be a few dozen bucks more expensive. You will notice that these differences have nothing to do with the physical product themselves but with the aftersales care that surrounds the product, some customers will want to pay for better care and ease if something doesn’t work, and some will simply think it’s a waste for themselves to pay extra since they might know how to fix the product themselves. Its all about knowing which service is best for you so you can get the best bang for your buck.

Your expectations

What exactly are you expecting the results to be when buying an electronic pest repellent? Do you want pests to completely disappear or die immediately in the first few days? If this is what you are expecting when shopping for an electronic pest repellant you should go ahead and stop shopping for this product and look more towards powerful and toxic pesticides that show no mercy with pests..but be careful if you have kids or pets! Electronic pest repellents are much better in settings where kids, pets, or food exist. They do Zero harm to you and your loved ones, so you don’t have to worry about moving out of your room or switching where you store your food while your pest problem is getting fixed. However, there is a trade off when you add safety into the equation...it takes longer for the pest problem to get solved. The time difference could be and added 3 weeks, but if you do your part to put your repellent in an unblocked location and don’t leave food around everywhere, the repellent will surely show noticeable results. To make things simple, do not buy an electronic pest repellent if you think it will work the same as insect pesticides/chemicals, you will not get the results you are expecting, you will be disappointed, and you will feel as if the company you bought from just scammed you…which isn’t always the case. But, if you are a mom of 2 kids and have a few kitchen ants wandering around, an electronic pest repellent would be perfect for you. As long as you don’t have an absolute infestation, it will give you the results you are looking for and the repellent would never get in the way of your busy schedule of raising your kids. Don’t be surprised when you buy a very “affordable” pest repellent that claims to be for multiple pests but doesn’t show the results you were looking for. Making large claims with small results exists in every industry including the electronic pest repellent industry. That doesn’t mean there aren’t certain companies out there that offer a quality product. Just don’t forget this is an alternative product that yields alternative results. You need to figure out what kind of pest problem you have, if that problem resides in a sensitive area, and what kind of money you are willing to spend for product quality and aftersales service/care. If you do this, I believe you will enjoy the cleanliness and ease of successfully ridding pests electronically without dangerous chemicals or nasty smells.
